The answer is "depends". If you're an attorney who is working off a retainer and have a budget - then I can work within that budget. If you need to bill the client separately, I can do that. If you have a project - then I can give you a flat rate quote for the whole job start to finish. If it's an ongoing project - I can bill you by the hour as long as I'm working off a retainer. As to what that hourly is - depends on how complicated the work is and how fast you need it done. So whatever your needs are budget are - we'll work something out that works for your needs and situation. To give you a ball park, if I'm working off a $2000 retainer, I can bill you as low as $25 an hour. If a $1000 retainer, $50 an hour. Most motions are between $250 and $1000 depending on variables. For an appeal or brief, it's generally $1000 to $5000 again depending on variables. If you have a simple filing of something I can whip off in a form, I can go as low as $99 for the whole thing - preparation and efiling included. If you're a veteran or a domestic violence victim, I may be able to offer you a hefty discount or even pro bono depending. Example - if you're an abused woman and need help preparing a restraining order, I never charge for that assistance.
I generally work off Zelle. I also have Venmo. If you have cash, I can give you an account with Wells Fargo or Bank of America you can take a money order or cashiers check to make a deposit from anywhere in the country. I don't take credit cards because it's just too expensive for me to maintain a merchant account for maybe one transaction a month. No I don't take Paypal. They've been taking people's money for no reason and not giving it back WAY too many times for a while now. That goes for Cashapp also. If you check them out on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, you'll see literally 1000's of complaints against these companies.
Once I have your retainer in hand and all of the documents or materials I've told you I need to get the job done, I can start right away generally. If you have a specific deadline you need it done by, be sure to ask me and if I agree - it will be done in time. I've never missed a deadline yet in over 30 years of doing paralegal work.
